Procedure:
It is suggested to purchase BCH Premium Refill Kit for HP15, HP45, & HP78 which contains special tools. The detailed instruction is included in the premium kit. This manual is for people who bulk generic refill kit and want to use it for refilling HP 15, 45 and 78.
1. Facing the print head upward for HP 15, 45, or downward for HP 78, locate the ink opening in the middle of cartridge. Remove the label and use a ballpoint pen to push the ball into the cartridge
2. Attach needle to syringe and load syringe with ink
3. SLOWLY inject the ink into the cartridge. Stop if the ink begins to well up from the fill hole. DO NOT OVERFILL.
4. Clean off top of cartridge, Place scotch tape over the top of the cartridge to seal the hole.
Reinstall in printer and run one or two cleaning cycles until the cartridge begins to print correctly. Do not exceed three cleaning cycles.
Reset instruction:
If the printer is unable to recognize the ink cartridge, apply a tape to bottom 4 contacts (HP 15 on the bottom, while HP 45, 78 on the top) on the left side of cartridge. Place the cartridge in the printer, the printer will still display the cartridge is not recognized. Now take out the cartridge, remove the tape and then tape the RIGHT side of the cartridge. The printer will display the error message again. Now remove the cartridge and peel off the tape, re-insert the cartridge and the printer will be recognized. Repeat the process if the printer still can’t recognize the cartridge. If it fails after 3 tries, then the cartridge needs to be replaced.
PLEASE NOTE: Should the cartridge print in streaks, first refill the cartridge, then start a cleaning cycle with your printer software. If the problem remains, fill a bowl with ½ inch of warm water (max temperature 90F) and soak the cartridge in it for 1 to 2 hours. Use an empty syringe without needle to pressure air from above into the openings. By doing so produce a high pressure within the ink chambers, and press the air bubbles out of the nozzle chamber.
